Managing Work

As student-athletes you have to manage your time to do homework and practice. This can be difficult to do as there are only 24 hours in the day. I personally have practice every day and homework every day. The trick is to make every second count. If you have free time or a study hall in school use it to do work. If I have 10 minutes of free time I will do as much work as I can, doing little by little during the day will lighten the load in the evening. If you have time to do work before practice do it then. You’ll be happier after practice because you won’t have to do work late at night. Skipping homework is not an option for me. If you don’t have good grades then it will be harder to get scholarships and a good job. Grades are equally important as sports to me so homework and studying are a priority in my house. Using every minute in the day is important but rest is important too! At the beginning of middle school it took me a few months to balance my schedule. It’s all about finding a balance and learning how to manage.

Finding a balance,

I am a student-athlete. I swim USA and I play travel softball. I want to reach out and help/inspire other young black athletes.
