Recently many black people have been targeted and killed due to racism and police brutality. I want to say that this isn’t something new. Innocent black people have been being killed. In the 20th century black people’s homes, churches, and communities were burned down and destroyed by white supremacist groups such as the KKK. Black people have been fighting for equality ever since we were brought over on boats over 400 years ago. At this point many black people have had it with racism and black lives being ended too soon because of it. People have taken to the streets to fight and voice their anger. We are sick and tired of being treated unfairly and have reached a boiling point. I am writing to tell everyone that even though you may not agree with violent methods, find a way to join the fight.
