Schools Out

For many the school year is coming to an end. Because Corona is still out there the summer fun activities might be limited or a little different. Here’s a list of fun things to do with your free time

  1. Workout- I like Pamela Reif’s HIIT workouts. They are only 20 minutes and they are great if you want to get in shape or tone those abs.
  2. Go to a Drive-In movie theater- The drive-ins are a great way to get outside and spend time with family while social distancing from others.
  3. Learn a new skill- I am learning how to do sign language in my free time. It is fun to learn and I can apply it to real life.
  4. Bake/Cook- If you follow social media sometimes you’ll see someone posted a really good looking cake or recipe. Now is the time to test your culinary skills and get in the kitchen.
  5. Read a Book- I recently read Little Fired Everywhere by Celeste Ng. It was a great book and I recommend it if you like drama, romance, and books that talk about social and racial issues. I also read Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. It was about a crazy dystopia that burns books(its a classic).
  6. Watch TV- If you aren’t a fan of reading the book Little Fires Everywhere is also a tv show on HULU. I recommend watching it and reading the book.
  7. Go on a walk or run- Taking a walk at the park or around your neighborhood is a great way to get some fresh air and look at the scenery.
  8. Draw/paint- I used some of my free time to go outside and paint. You can paint and draw whatever you want but you can just enjoy nature while doing it.
  9. Ride your bike- Riding bikes is super fun whether you do it with family and friends or by yourself. It’s a great way to be active and you get to feel the wind in your face while doing it(which is great because it’s very hot outside).
  10. Game Night- No matter how old you are everyone loves board games. Monopoly, Candy Land, Connect 4, Trivia. Game Night is sure to bring the family together for some friendly competition.

Please support Black Lives Matter by going to MelaninMagicbyJazz on Etsy and buying some paintings. The profits will be donated to Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights Camp. Thanks for reading and I hope these help you have fun over the summer!

Happy Summer,
